SMITH, 29, SUCCUMBS
James Herman Smith, 29 year old mechanic, 1104 Nelson Street, Corinth, died at 7:30 a.m. Sunday at the Veterans Hospital at Memphis after an illness of one month.  He was a member of Holly Baptist Church.
Funeral services were to be held today at 3 p.m. at Holly Baptist Church with the Rev. Excail Burleson officiating.  Burial was to be in the Holly Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Barbara Jones Smith; a daughter, Leigh Ann Smith; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Aubrey Smith of Joliet, Illinois; his grandmother, Mrs. Hattie Patterson of Glen; three brothers, William Smith, Larry Smith and Gary Smith, all of Joliet; and three sisters, Mrs. Judy Laird of Burnsville, Mrs. Janie Gurley of Joliet and Mrs. Faye Cox of Little Rock, Arkansas.
Coleman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
