Obituary - John Walker Spencer

RITES HELD SUNDAY FOR MR. SPENCER
Funeral services for John Walker Spencer of Walnut were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Harmony Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Vanderford and William Eaton officiating. Burial was in Harmony Cemetery in Walnut with McPeters Mortuary in charge.
Spencer, 90, died at 5:30 p.m. Saturday in Magnolia Hospital after an illness of seven years.
A native of Alcorn County, Spencer was a retired farmer and a Baptist.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lillie S. Spencer of Route 3, Walnut; four sons, R.J. Spencer, K.C. Spencer and Cleo Spencer, all of Memphis, and Leo Spencer of Corinth; a daughter, Mrs. Annie Majors of Bolivar, Tennessee; 16 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Bill Burrows, Tommy Wilkinson, Bobby Schrum, Maurice Shaw, Donald Franks and Mancel Foard.
