Funeral services for William Clinton WILLIAMS, 72, will be held today at 2 p.m. at the Booneville Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. D.W. JONES and Bro. Steve CORBETT officiating. Burial will be in New Lebanon Cemetery.
He died on Friday, Mar. 28, 1997, at the Iuka Hospital after an extended illness. He was born in Prentiss County on Aug. 9, 1924, to the late Oliver D. and Ora Lee EAGLE WILLIAMS. He graduated from Burton High School and received his B.S. in math education from Florence State College and his master's degree in school administration from The University of Mississippi. He was a retired educator, having served as principal at Glendale High School and Alcorn Central High School. He served for the past 20 years as a trustee of Northeast Mississippi Community College. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of World War II. He was a member of New Lebanon Freewill Baptist Church. He enjoyed farming, raising cattle and most of all spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Kathryn WOODRUFF WILLIAMS, whom he married on June 26, 1943; two sons, Steve WILLIAMS and his wife Kathy of Booneville and Gerald WILLIAMS of Tupelo; 3 granddaughters, Heather ULTHOVEN and her husband, Scott, Wendy WILLIAMS and Mandy WILLIAMS; one sister, Emogene GREEN of Booneville; one brother, Hershel WILLIAMS of Booneville and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Donald DOWNS, Larry DAVIS, Edward SITTON, David SITTON, Danny SITTON, and Travis LITTLE, all former students of Mr. WILLIAMS.
Honorary pallbearers are members of the administration and the board of trustees of Northeast Mississippi Community College.
Memorials can be made to Northeast Mississippi Community College.
