Salley

Query posted November 24, 2003

I am really looking for the will of John Henry Salley, born April 28, 1795 in Goodland Creek, Orangeburg, SC, died January 1, 1877 in Jefferson, Carroll County, MS and his wife Eleanor Jones-Salley, born Feb. 17, 1796 in Orangeburg, SC or any of their descendants wills (Nancy, Jacob Uriah, William Martin, John Alexander (Cap), Jane Margaret, Levicia Eleanor, Daniel John, Phillip Lewis and Henry Jones SALLEY). The names of their slaves would be listed on the Inventory of the Estate (document that lists deceased person's assets in Probate Court) where the will was filed.

I know this is a tall request, but I'm also looking for 1870 and 1880 census records on these surnames. If you do not have them, can you direct me to someone who does have them?

I would appreciate any help you can provide.

Thank you,
Marva Yarrell
