Jesse Brown

I need information on my Brown Tree from Carroll County.

Jesse Brown (Bible says Jessie D. Brown) married Amanda Miller(1850 census Carroll Co., MS) after 1850 and before 1858.

I do not think Jesse or Amanda were born in MS.

A J. Brown joined the MS Calvary from Carroll County and I know he served and died in the Civil War.

His son was: John J. Brown b. May 14, 1858 and married Roxie Curithers (or Carithers) b. oct 4, 1867. Married at Duck Hill, MS on May 27, 1889 (my marriage date is also may 27 umm strange uh).

Children were:

Andrew Jackson Brown (my Grandfather) b. April 24, 1892 and moved to AL.

Amanda Clemintine Brown b. Sept 29, 1890; married W. A. Ingram Jan 3, 1906 in Carrollton.

John William Brown and Jessie D. Brown were born in 1894 and 1895 and both buried at Hickory Grove Cemetery in 1899. No other Brown graves found.

Roxie Carnilia Brown b. Oct 4, 1898, married William Gregory in Carrollton 1913 and lived in Leland, MS.

Lindon Miller Brown b. Oct 9, 1900 (died young)

Jasper Barnes (Jack) Brown b. May 6, 1902 married Pearl Slocum in Carrollton 1922.

Willie Myrtle Brown b. Dec 9, 1905 and married Joe D. Bowen on July 9, 1922 and may have lived in Greenville (Social security death record on him).

Fannie Loraine Brown b. Mar 15, 1909; married Percy Palmertree June 14, 1925 in Greenwood.

This is all the information I have on the Browns of MS and Carroll County.

I am now looking toward Grenada County and Greenwood as a location for John J. and descendants.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Thanks.

Norman Brown
