Gilliam Cemetery is located 2.3 miles from the Chickasaw/Pontotoc County line on Hwy 41, the north side of the Hwy; 100 yards north on the left side of the wagon road in the woods.

Note:  Inscription on Ellen R. Chancellor's gravestone:
        Like Spring's first flowers she passed away,
        Mid innocence and bloom,
        To flourish in a brighter world
        Far, far, beyond the tome.
Note:  Inscription on Matilda A. Chancellor's gravestone:
        Too gifted, good and beautiful
        For this cold world of ours
        She bade its scenes a last adieu
        To dwell in Edne's (Eden's?) bowers.
