The Hartley Family Cemetery is located on MS 547 near the intersection of MS 28. Directions to the cemetery: (1) From Jackson, MS, area take I-55 South to the Hazlehurst exit to MS 28 to Union Church. Continue on MS 28 for approximately 14 miles to the intersection of MS 547. Turn right on MS 547 and continue for 5.5 miles. The cemetery is located on the left, up a steep embankment, 0.1 mile beyond the intersection of MS 547 and Barlow Road. (2) From the Natchez, MS area, take US 61 North to Fayette to MS 28 to Union Church. Continue on MS 28 from Union Church 9.1 miles to intersection of MS 547. The cemetery, located in an open pasture, is in a total state of disrepair. While the grave stones are quite elaborate, all have toppled over or have been broken. Only eight grave stones are evident although there is evidence of eleven or more grave sites.
