Dear Aunt            (Refers to Mary Stewart Davis)

          I take my pen to try to drop you a few lines to let you know how we all are, etc. We have been sick since the first of June and are sick at present some of them are recovering and some are not though I dont think any of them in much danger. I have just got so that I can sit up a little. We started to move from where we were about the first of September and we had like to have not got here as it was very warm and dry. It is about 140 miles from here to Huntsville. I think we have made our last move. This is the best country I ever saw. Good land, good water, and good range and there has been no sickness here this year and it is said to be the sickliest year that has ever been in Texas. We have rented land for next year. Crops are good through out the state as far as I can hear. I cant write any more at this time for I can hardly write at all. Give my love to all.
