Austin Love – 1807 – 1893. Born in Morgan Co., Ga. Died Love Station, Miss.
Austin Love was listed in the 1870 (p. 187) and 1880 (p. 558) DeSoto Census records as African American. In 1870 he is listed as a domestic servant of William Love (58, GA) and his wife, Emily (54, TN). Austin appears to be with a wife and children/grandchildren: Judy, 50, TN; Anna, 25, TN; Ambra, 6, MS. He married (or re-married) on January 6, 1973 to Rachel Powers. They are listed in the 1880 Census, where her age is 53, born in Virginia.
Margaret Love – age about 70 – 1909. Trusty Servant. S. Banks.
Born in North Carolina. Listed in the 1880 Census (p. 546) as age 40. She apparently was a servant of George T. and Sallie Banks.
