EARLY SETTLERS

Magee, ...John Ford, father of Mr. Jessie Ford, ...Joseph Porter. Willis Magee had eight sons, viz: Louis, Jonathan, Duncan, ...*..., Hugh, Owen H., and Phillip."

THE KING FAMILY

The King family left Fairfield County, South Carolina about 1807 to settle in the Natchez District. The father, John King, died enroute in Tennessee. His children Moses King, Nathan King and Judith King Perry, widow, and granddaughter Harriet Perry, who was about five years old, all settled in Franklin County, Mississippi by 1808. It is probable that the Picket family traveled with the Kings to Franklin County. Judith King Perry married Bartlett Ford of Franklin County on 7 July 1808. ...contributed by Barbara Haigh.
