Funeral Services For W.S. Ford

Funeral services were held at the Union church at Trickham Thursday afternoon at 2:30 for W.S. Ford, who died Wednesday, March 10 at 7:00 p.m. after a long illness. Rev. Burt Gillis officiated.
Walter Sherwood Ford was born January 28, 1869 at Utica, Mississippi, came to Texas in 1886 and was married to Katie Davis in 1891. To this union seven children were born—one died in infancy and one son, Bill, died in 1944.
Surviving children are Mrs. Cleo Duffee, Sidney; Audie Ford, Bangs; Marion Ford, Trickham; Mrs. Frankie Davis, Brownwood; Dick Ford, Spur; 14 grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive, and five sisters; Mrs. Mollie Shield, Mrs. Ben McIver and Mrs. Elmer Haynes of Trickham, Miss Pearl Ford of Brownwood and Mrs. Etta Witten of Lampasas.
Mr. Ford had been a member of the Methodist church since early manhood.
The pall bearers were Frank Rice, Bernice McIver, Oscar Boenicke, Glenn Haynes, Fred Haynes and Hulan Welch.
Flower bearers were Mesdames Bernice McIver, Oscar Boenicke, Frank Rice, Fred Haynes, Lanham Cole and Marion Whitley.
Burial was in the Trickham Cemetery with Hosch Funeral Home in charge.
