Nancy Caroline Cockrell Thornberry
Nancy Caroline Cockrell was born during 1870, the daughter of Elum and Carolin Devaughn Cockrell. On 24 November 1887 she married James P. Thornberry. They farmed the Centerville area north of Mantachie. Nancy Caroline was the receipient of the Itawamba County Good Citizen Award during the 1950s at an advanced age. Nancy Caroline Cockrell Thornberry died during 1964 and was buried in Oak Grove Cemetery.
