BRUNER, PRATT, SURBERT Stanley Bruner Wed Oct 30 08:09:57 1996 - James A.BRUNER married Lucinda C Barnett PRATT, a widow of Thomas Jefferson Pratt, on 20 Sep 1864 Itawamba Co MS. His brother Joseph K Bruner married Frances SURBERT on 29 Mar 1865. The family story is that 2 brothers were out cutting wood at the end of the Civil War or after and some outlaws came upon them and killed them. I suspect that they are buried at the "Old" Friendship Cemetery outside Guntown, but the tombstones have been stolen. Does anyone have any information about renegades, etc. at the end of the war? And especially any knowledge of these killings?

FISHER, we do not know what happened to him, but she came to Coryell County, TX. with her children in 1876 without Mr. FISHER. Also, Tillman Thomas ANDERSON, b. June 1829 in GEORGIA, m. Mary WELBORN (WILBORN), b. G., in Itawamba County, 1842. She must have died before 1871, because he married Mary HARWELL in Lafayette County. Tillman moved to Coryell County, Texas, also, and lived there until 1918, when he died. His son George was said to have left MS. under duress, after killing someone. Tillman's sons were James Thomas, Richard Albert, George, Dock M., Frank, daughters ? Alice and Elizabeth. We are at a deadend on these families.
