Herrin Ford Company Marks Steady Progress

One of the many business firms in Lamar County, which has made marked progress since being established more than seven years ago, is Herrin Ford Company.

Located in a modern, new building facing Highway 11 north of Purvis, Herrin Ford Company is owned and managed by Harold Herrin, who has had many years of experience in the automotive field.

Herrin Ford Company is the home of the famous, pace-setting Ford whose line of automobiles include Galaxie, Falcon, and Thunderbird, only to name a few.

When Harold Herrin first took over the Ford agency in Lamar County and established Herrin Ford Company, only a handful of employees were on hand to handle the needs of potential customers.  Today, the great demand of the public for the efficient quality service provided at Herrin Ford has made it necessary to greatly increase the work staff.  At present, a dozen men and women are working with Herring Ford Company.

Nearly every week, Herrin Ford Company receives shipments of automobiles of every type and in every price range for the motoring public living in and around Lamar County.  New on display in the showroom and throughout the lot are new Fords to suit everyone’s fancy-and pocketbook.

Herrin Ford Company’s A-1 Used Car Lot located adjacent to the main building has earned for itself a reputation for being the headquarters for quality used automobiles.  Whether you are in the market for a late model sedan or a pickup truck, Herrin Ford can give you what you desire.

Motorists have also found that when it comes to major automotive repairs, Herrin Ford Company’s experienced mechanics cannot be beat.  Service is dependable because only quality, genuine Ford parts are used.

Those who work in the service department of Herrin Ford company include Billy Hartfield, mechanic; J.M. Crabtree, mechanic; J.P. Slade, body repairs; Robert Anderson, mechanic; H.B. Foshee, parts manager; Pete Ledingham, mechanic; Eugene Ashlock, painter-body repairs.

James Gray and Harvey Davis are employed as custodians.

N.R. Davis and Sid Davis are always present to explain to interested customers the unlimited advantages offered by the new Fords and to show customers the quality used trucks and automobiles.

Mrs. Mildred Murphy is presently serving as bookkeeper.

“We are proud of the progress which Herrin Ford Company has made in Lamar County,” says Harold Herrin.  “Certainly some changes have been over the years, but we believe they have been for the best.  We are glad to be able to be the agency in Purvis and Lamar County for the Ford automobile, and we are certain that more people than ever before are learning the advantages of Ford.”

Herrin invited the residents of this area to visit Herrin Ford Company at any time and inspect the new and used automobiles and trucks on the lot.
