Early Sumrall

This is an old postcard photograph of a street in the town of Sumrall, which was a fairly large, bustling place  during its heyday as a lumber company town.  The photograph was submitted by Johnnie Rose Carruth Easton.   Her Great-Great Grandmother, Elvira Jane Padgett Hanberry, ran a boarding house in Sumrall, and she believes it is depicted in this photograph as the most prominent building on the right.  She thinks the prominent building on the left is the old furniture store.

If you have any other information about this photograph or information and photographs about the HANBERRY or CARRUTH families pleas contact Johnnie Rose Carruth Easton at  jreaston@bellsouth.net.
