Miss Gunn is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ware Mason of Isney, Ala.; the late Frank Lindsey; and the late Harvey and Eileen Gunn. 
 

The bride-elect is a graduate of Enterprise High School, where she served as valedictorian of her class. In high school, she was a member of the basketball and softball teams and a cheerleader for four years. She was also member of the Beta Club and SADD. 
 

She is currently pursuing a degree in radiologic technology at Meridian Community College, where she is a member of Phi Theta Kappa. She will graduate in August 2003. 
 

Miss Gunn is employed in the Inpatient Pharmacy at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center 
 

Mr. Holifield is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Welborn of Quitman; Odell Holifield of Quitman; and the late Floyd Holifield. 
 

The bridegroom-elect attended Quitman High School, where he was a member of the football and power lifting teams for four years. He has been involved in the Cadet Explorers Program at the Meridian Police Department for three years and is employed with Terminix.

Miss Jones is the granddaughter of Mrs. Jim Bedwell, the late William M. Mitchell, Mary Sue King and the late H.C. Jones of Tiptonville, Tenn. 
 

The bride-elect is a graduate of Jefferson Davis Academy and received a bachelor's degree in psychology and a juris doctorate from the University of Mississippi. She has a master's in health services administration from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. 
 

Miss Jones is the corporate responsibility officer and director of quality and resource management for St. Vincent Health System in Little Rock. 
 

Mr. Davis is the grandson of Susie M. Swain of Meridian and the late James E. Swain; Doris M. Davis of Butte, Mo., and the late William L. Davis. 
 

The bridegroom-elect is a graduate of Butte High School and received his bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Montana. He has a juris doctorate from the University of Mississippi School of Law. He has a master's in health services administration and a master's in business administration from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. 
 

Mr. Davis is the chief operations officer of the Arkansas Cancer Research Center and associate dean at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock.

Jennifer Lynn McCary of Collinsville and Christopher Brian Davis of Meridian were married Saturday, Dec. 15, 2001, at Central United Methodist Church with the Rev. J.J. Jacob officiating. 
 

Parents of the couple are Ricky and Teresa McCary of Collinsville; Van and Melanie Davis and Bobby and Carmen Renfrow, all of Meridian. 
 

Grandparents of the bride are Rose Hale and the late Edward T. Moseley; James R. McCary and the late Mabel McCary. 
 

Grandparents of the bridegroom are Bernice and Gerry Davis; Bruce Womack and the late Allene Womack. 
 

Music for the ceremony was provided by Joyce Tillery, organist; Dalette Newell and Kevin Harrison, soloists. 
 

The bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a sleeveless diamond white satin gown covered with an illusion overlay, accented with embroidery and pearls. She wore a strand of pearls given to her by the bridegroom's grandmother. 
 

Maid of honor was Amber Thompson of Starkville. Other attendants were Charlotte Davis, sister of the bridegroom, April McCary of Meridian, sister-in-law of the bride, Summer Williams and Mackenzie Ortlepp, both of Collinsville. Morgan Wall of Knoxville, Tenn., was flower girl. 
 

Van Davis of Meridian served as best man. Groomsmen and ushers were Brian McCary, Brad Williams, Bo Davis and Randy Lee Diveley, cousins of the bridegroom, and Sean Patrick McCullouch, brother of the bridegroom, all of Meridian, and Jason Smith of Coatopa, Ala. 
 

Kellen McCullouch of Meridian, brother of the bridegroom, was ring bearer. 
 

Rose petals were thrown by Tanner Goldman and John Thomas Goldman. Program attendant was Hannah Davis. 
 

The couple was taken by horse drawn carriage to the reception at Union Station. It was driven by the bridegroom's grandfather, Bernice Davis. 
 

Assisting at the reception were Heather Goldman, Dalette Newell, Danielle Rigdon and Emily Womack. 
 

After a honeymoon in Asheville, N.C., the couple resides in Long Beach.

Mr. and Mrs. John W. Clarke of Meridian celebrated their 50th anniversary with dinner and a night out at the Silver Star Casino, hosted by their children. The Clarkes were married Feb. 23, 1952, in Cincinnati, Ohio. They have four children: Edward Clarke of Meridian and his wife, Debbie; Nan Wade of Meridian and her husband, Steve; the late Richard W. Clarke of Laurel; and the late Debbie Clarke of Cincinnati. The Clarkes also have five grandchildren, Christina and Johnny Clarke, Leah and Hunter Clarke and Nikki Olson.

Mr. Foster, 82, of Meridian, died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2002, at Queen City Nursing Center. He was a charter member of Westwood Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and treasurer for 35 years. He was a member of the Sunshiners Sunday School Class and the Exchange Club. Mr. Foster was a veteran of World War II. 
 

Survivors include his wife, Rachel E. Foster, a son, Dennis E. Foster, both of Meridian; a daughter, Barbara F. Crowe of Birmingham, Ala.; a brother, Jesse J. Foster Jr. and his wife, Jo Ann, of Meridian; grandchildren, Steve Crowe and his wife, Gisele, Suzy Crowe, Miles Foster and Morgan Foster. 
 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie J. Foster and Vira McCall Foster.

Mr. Park, 80, of Daleville, formerly of Solomon, Kan., died Monday, Feb. 25, 2002, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. He was a member of Daleville United Methodist Church. He served in the U.S. Army at Panama Canal, World War II, Korean Conflict and two tours in Vietnam. He received the World War II Victory Medal, Army Occupation Medal (Germany), Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Lebanon), Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Vietnam), Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Korea), National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal (5th Award) and eight Overseas Service Bars. 
 

Survivors include his former wife, Doris Park; his favorite cousin, Fern Latshaw of Moreno Valley, Calif. and several other cousins; a brother-in-law, W.B. Wright; and a very special friend, Jerry Wilkerson.

Mr. Melton was a member of Chunky Baptist Church, where he was a deacon. He was a veteran of World War II, member of Battery "C" 947th Field Artillery Battalion. He was a motor transportation NCO 014 in New Guinea, South Philippines, Luzon. He received the Philippines Liberation Ribbon with two Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Medals and World War II Victory Medal.

Carrie Lou Fox McGee was born in Neshoba County on Nov. 3, 1906, to the late John Harvey and Appie Elizabeth Fox. On March 1, 2002, she slipped away home to join her family circle, now complete. She was the seventh of 11 children, plus two half sisters and a half-brother, all preceding her in death. They were: Harvey, Mary, Newt, Hubert and Herbert (twins), Curtis, Forrest, Lloyd, Claude Jay, Audie Mae and Winfred (twins), Antonie and Tim. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Martin Gifford McGee; a son, William Royal McGee; a daughter, Mary Lou McGee; and a grandson, John Michael McGee.

Mrs. Dent, 95, of Mobile, Ala., died Friday, March 1, 2002, at Sea Breeze Hospital. 
 

Eloise Chatham Dent, daughter of Angeline Graham and John William Chatham, was born June 24, 1906. She is survived by a brother, the Rev. John William Chatham Jr., of Starkville; nephews John D. Goss of Mobile, John William Chatham III of Pearl and Neal Jackson Chatham Jr., of Lafayette, La.; nieces, Zaidee C. Galloney of Montrose, Ala., Elizabeth Chatham-Toombs of Nashville, Tenn., Janet C. Abare of West Cliffe, Colo., Catherine Ann Spiegel of New York, Rachel Chatham of Santa Cruz, Calif., Allison C. King of Bossier City, La., Norma Jett Hoots of Nashville and Catherine Tillman of Lake Forest, Fla.; and several grand-nieces and nephews. 
 

A native of Rose Hill, as a young child she moved to Hattiesburg, where she completed high school in 1924. She attended Mississippi State University for Women until 1928 and taught briefly in Jasper County. In 1930 she married Harry Kennon Dent and operated a cattle farm with him near Garlandville until his death in 1948. She returned to school at the University of Southern Mississippi where she obtained a master's degree in 1950. That year she accepted a position with what is now Delta Community College in Moorehead. In 1952 she accepted a position with the University of Southern Mississippi in the College of Education with a specialty in remedial reading. In 1966 she accepted a similar position with Mississippi University for Women where she retired in 1971. In 1993 she moved to Mobile where she remained until her death. She was a member of Eastern Shore Presbyterian Church and the Ecor Rouge Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. 
 

Visitation will be today from 8 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Harris, 79, of Clarke County, died Saturday, March 2, 2002, at her home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Harris; her parents, Elmer and Celia Nogelmeier; and two brothers, Donald and Conrad Nogelmeier.

Mr. Hodges, 77, of Altamont Springs, Fla., died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2002, in Tampa, Fla. He was a World War II veteran who served in the South Pacific. 
 

Survivors include his wife, Mary Lorraine Hodges of Altamont Springs; a son, Andrew Hodges of Florida; two grandchildren, Gage and Lauren Hodges; and a brother, Robert Hodges of Meridian. 
 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Terrell and Florence Hodges; a brother, T.H. Hodges; and a daughter, Linda Hodges.

Mrs. Smith, 93, of Collinsville, died Friday, March 1, 2002, at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center. She was a retired school teacher of 47 years and a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Collinsville. She also served as a Sunday school teacher for many years and treasurer and clerk of the church. 
 

Survivors include two sons, Billy Harold Smith and his wife, Joyce, and Connie Mack Smith and his wife, Beth, all of Collinsville; 12 grandchildren, Hal, Pat, Jennifer, Janet, Scott, Beth Ann, Ann, Carol, Ricky, Cidney, Benji and Trisha; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, Dr. Arnold Nelson and his wife, Donnie C., of Mansfield, La.; a sister, Elaine Reynolds of Meridian; and several nieces and nephews. 
 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Phil Smith; a son, Lavelle Nelson Smith; two grandsons, Bobby Smith and Kim Smith; a twin sister, Nola Nelson Smith; and a brother, Claude Nelson.

Mr. Harris, 47, of Jackson, died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2002, in Jackson. He was a member of Highland Baptist Church, the Mississippi Society of CPAs, the American Society of CPAs and was an Eagle Scout. 
 

Survivors include his parents, Wellie Kropp and Robbie Harris, both of Meridian; two brothers, Wellie Harris and his wife, Sheryl, of Stafford, Texas and Alan Harris and his wife, Jennifer, of Woodlands, Texas; six nieces and nephews; three uncles; two aunts; and a special friend, Kay Moloney of Jackson.

The marriage of Jessica Jill Dodson and Trinity Wayne Lewis was solemnized Saturday, March 2, 2002, at New Hope Baptist Church in Meridian. The 6 p.m. ceremony was performed by the Rev. Roy Dabbs. 
 

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Hays and Lloyd Dodson of Meridian. The bridegroom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. William Felks and Wayne Lewis of Meridian. 
 

Nuptial music was provided by Michael Gibson, organist. 
 

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an A-line sheath of matte satin. The strapless empire bodice was delicately decorated with a narrow band of rhinestone beading and pearls at the neckline and again at the waistline. Matching beading and pearls also decorated the hemline. The detachable wateau train featured an open overlay with clusters of pearls and rhinestones cascading down. Her fingertip veil of silk illusion was accented with scattered pearls and a princess tiara of rhinestones and pearls. She carried a simple cascade of white calla lilies. 
 

Kelly Hall attended her sister as matron of honor. Kasey Reid served as maid of honor. Other attendants were Reanna McKissack, Hannah Pickard, Casey Pope, Shelby Shull and Adrian Spidle, all of Meridian. 
 

Flower girl was Hannah Claire Echols of Stockbridge, Ga. 
 

Ray Gordon, grandfather of the bridegroom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Jason Griffith of Clinton, Kevin Frazier, Chris Haguewood, Ritchie Hall, Robby Reynolds and Trint Shull, all of Meridian.

The Rev. Paul and Barbara Linton will celebrate their 50th anniversary today from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. at Enon Presbyterian Church in Ackerman. They were married March 2, 1952, at Cokers Chapel United Methodist Church in Vimville. The couple has five daughters and one son; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Linton is the former Barbara Tanner.
