PHILLIPS is buried in Palestine Cemetery. His tombstone gives 2 Oct., as his birthdate and his death is 3 Apr 1870. Phebe is in legal documents of Tate Co MS until 2 March 1889. Researching Andrew Jackson MOORE who came to Desoto now Tate Co. MS ca 1865 from Bibb Co AL. He married Sarah Elizabeth KORNEGAY in AL and at least three of their children were born in AL. He and his brother, Jonathan MOORE, and their families settled in the Thyatira area. Later Andrew Jackson moved his family closer to Independence on the Old Oxford to Memphis Road. In 1885, Sarah Elizabeth died. In 1886, Andrew Jackson MOORE married Rebecca Ann BURFORD KEY, widow of William Lee KEY. Andrew Jackson and Rebecca had two children, Katie who died at age 4 and Ira Jackson MOORE, my father. Any info on this family will be appreciated.

Seeking information on John Sanford SAUNDERS who married Clara Elizabeth COLLINS in DeSoto Co. (later Tate) in 1860. Family farmed near Senatobia, and their first son Jimmy was born there, also 1860. Jimmy died in early childhood and is possibly buried in Tate Co. John and Clara joined the Primitive Baptist Church at Senatobia about 1866, John ordained to office of deacon in 1868. HORN 1848-1904 and by tradition was said to have been in Tate Co. also. Are there any records of HORNS? John and Nancy had son James who died 1886 and daughter Mary md William McCREARY 1887. Richard LOCKE lived in Noxubee Co. Ms in 1866 but said he was removing from that Co. In 1880 I find his widow Martha R. LYON LOCKE on 1880 census of Tate Co. with several children an indication that Richard probably died about 1878. They were the guardians of my G-G-grandfather James Steele WIGGINS who was with Martha on the census. Marriage records of Tate show a K.D. HOWELL and Martha LOCKE married in 1886. Is it this same person? Would like any info. The Tate Co. Heritage contains info on LOCKE, is this family connected?

They had Canada Hugh ROBERSON who was b 11 Mar 1894 in Bett, Tate Co. MS. He died 13 Jul 1953 in the VA Hospital in Memphis, Shelby Co. TN. He was a Pvt in Co. K 312 Inf. WWI. He m Mary Jane MEDLIN, dau of Henry Lee MEDLIN and Lily SHAMBE. They had 6 boys and lived in Red Banks, Marshall Co., as farmers. The boy's names were: Robert Clifford, James Canada, Walter Lee (Pete), Clyde Curtis, and Wesley Dean ROBERSON. Would love to share what I have with anyone else researching these families. ROGERS, b 1844; son, W. E. ROGERS, b 1847; son, M. L. (Marcus LaFayette) ROGERS, b 1849; dau, C. N. ROGERS, b 1851; son, Alex F. ROGERS, b 1855; and dau, Fanny ROGERS, b 1858. Part of the family moved to TX in 1874, but I don't know if Wash and Polly did. Marcus moved to Limestone Co TX. Alex was in Houston in 1914. W. E. The younger son, James Bluford SHACKELFORD, was born in Senatobia, Tate Co in 1855. I know of no other children, although others are a possibility. I know nothing about the parents, but I am told the mother's name was Molly. Tom moved to West Helena, AR about 1912. Bluford moved to Marvell, AR in the early 1920's. Both sons are deceased.
