Mrs. Gillespie Buried At Mt Zion, Sunday
Mrs. Malinda C Gillespie, age seventy-six years, died at the home of her daughter
Mrs. Sam Johnson at Thyatira Saturday afternoon after an illness extending over several weeks. The remains were interred at Mt Zion Cemetery at Independence at twelve o'clock Sunday, September 19, Judge
E O Dinkins conducting the burial service.
Mrs. Gillespie was one of the most beloved women of that section of the county. She was a beautiful Christian character and delighted in doing good deeds for her neighbors. She is survived by four daughters and three sons;
Mrs Sam L Johnson, Mrs. A A Lewers, Mrs. T J Cathey and Mrs. M H Thompson and Messers
A A Gillespie of Tuscumbia, Ala, CC Gillespie of Aberville and
J O Gillespie of Gulf Port, Miss. A fifth daughter Mrs. J A Wooten having preceded her to the great beyond. Her grandson
Mr. Roger Wooten of Jackson, Tenn. was present at the funeral.
