Mr. Van C Milam, 90, of Senatobia, died Saturday, June 22, 1996, at Baptist Desoto Hospital in Southaven. A graveside memorial service was held June 26 at the Bethesda Cemetery, with Rev George Boling and Rev Mike Jones officiating.
Mr. Milam is survived by his wife, Mrs. Louise Sowell Milam.
A noted historian of Tate County, Mr. Milam conducted frequent tours of the local museum he co-founded some 19 years ago with other Senatobians.
In addition to his work at the museum, Mr. Milam aided the staff at the Tate County Genealogical and Historical Society. Among other contributions to the preservation of the county's heritage, Mr. Milam wrote a history of the county.
He and his wife also formerly operated a dry goods store in Senatobia.
