May term Pleasant Hill Baptist Church 1865
Met at her regular term Saturday before 3rd Sunday in May1865.
Preaching by our Pastor 1st fellowship of the Church enquired after nothing manifested contrary to good feeling the Brethren and Sisters all seemed full the love of God and overjoyed at ageing meeting with each other several of our Brethren just from the army were in attendence, and what a glorious spectacle and what a happy event that we are a large portion of us permitted
to again meet to worship God but there are vacant seats that are never to be filled again Some of our brethren fell in battle but we hope to meet them in great day when the nation of the Earth will all appear at the land of God
2nd Visiting Brethren and Sisters invited to Seats with us
3rd Called for reference Baptism of Brother Thomas Grace referred him July meeting ‘64 not
been attended to
Opened to receive members whereupon Sister Middy Ann Stinson presented herself gave a relation of her experience which was satisfactory to the and open application She was heartily received into full fellowship after baptism Also Sister Sophnnia Rutherford was heartily admitted into the church after being baptised.
Sister Elisabeth Merritt applied through Bro. H. H. Hopper for a letter of dismission She having moved beyond the bounds of the church it was unanimously agreed that the clerk prepare a letter of dismission for Sister Elisabeth Merritt. Baptism on tomorrow morning meet at 9 a.m. where baptism of Brother Thomas Grace & Sister Middy Annn Stinson will be attended to is not Providentially prevented. That of Sister Ophra Rutherford referrence done in conference and signed by order of the church Dismissed in order May 20th 1865

Sunday Morning met at the water as agreed upon it was though for to give an opportunity to any
who wished to connect themselves with the Church when Sister Jane Cossett came forward and
gave a relation of an evidence of hope in Christ and applied for admission and was cordially
received after baptism which was referred - baptism of the two candidates administered at 10
a.m. presence of a large audience then retired to the House where Bro Huddleston preached to a
large and attentive congregation a funeral sermon to the Memory of Sarah Norton Deceased

Met at her regular term Saturday before 3rd Sunday in July 1865 Preaching by our Pastor and the Revd. Brethren Rowland and Morre then set in conference church all in peace
Invited visiting Brethren and Sisters to seats with us opened a door of admittance into the Church where upon Brother James Sergeant came forward and presented a letter of dismission from Elk River Church Grundy Co. Term and desiring to connect himself with us after theReading of the letter he was unanimously came into full fellowship also Sister Mary Hyme a
member of Concord Church in this County belonging to an Association in disorder came forward and expressed a desire to become a member of this Church after Some remark by the Revd. Brethren Moore our Moderator & other upon the propriety of restoring her She being well known by most of the brethren & sisters the Church agreed to restore her to full fellowship and
she was accepted accordingly - no other application Called for reference The Baptism of Sisters Sophnnia Rutherford & Jane Cossett referred for May meeting will be attended to tomorrow morning at 9 o’clock a.m.

Sunday morning met at the water a very rainy morning it was deemed proper to extend an invitation to any that wished to become members when Bro Jesse Darnall presented himself and after relating the travel of his mind at his request was admitted into the church Baptism postponed the audience witnessed the Baptism of Sister Sophnnia Rutherford & Jane Cossett
afterwards repaired to the house and listened to the Elder Brethren Moore Huddleston & Rowland who delivered lengthy discourses Bro. Moore delivering a funeral Sermon to the memory of our aged and dead Bro Peter Cotton and Bro Huddleston like wise to the Memory of our once served but departed Brethren Hollis Cook & James M. Cotton , who were both killed in Battle The Congregation remaining ordered and attentive all the while.

6th Opened door for reception of members when Brethren J.J. McMillian Howard? Grace and Sisters Mary J. Norton presented themselves gave a relation of evidence of their hope in Christ and were received into full fellowship after being baptised
7th Eld. J.B. Huddleston our beloved pastor request be released from the Pastoral Care of the
Church on account of the distance intervening and his bodily infirmity which the Church (though
reluctantly) agree to do in all good feeling to the dear brother also it is unanimously for the
Church that he visit us as often as practicable
8th The Church by common consent request Eld. M.B. Moore to assume the Pastoral Care of the
Church which he agrees to do
9th Meet tomorrow at 9 O’clock A.M. at the pool (which has been constructed since our last
meeting) to attend to the ordinance of Baptism

commemorate the death and sufferings of our Savior by partaking Lord’s Supper and washing

Cotton moved we enquire the cause of continued absence on the part of some of the brethren and sisters the case Bro. and sister Lee was first taken up he being present (gave as a reason for neglecting church meetings) the dangers and difficulties attending the war that has just closed and since he is badly supplied with horses the brethren and sisters agree to
forgive them and request him to see sister Aldrige for the same matter and brother Thomas Hopper was also requested to see sister Meeks as the Church would like to hear from her 6th Our Pastor at the request of the Church gave a short account of the proceedings of the Association much love and good feelings was manifested by that body all of one union Bro. J.T. Norton
requests a letter of dismission granted

November Term 1865
Pleasant Hill Church met at her regular term Saturday before 3rd Lord’s day in Nov. 1865. Our Pastor being absent it was moved and seconded that Brother J.W. Norton Moderate and G.T. Cotton clerk for us.
First, After singing and prayer by the moderator, set in conference; all in peace.
Second, Invited visiting brethren and sisters to seats with us.
Third, called for reference, The case of Sister Hurts was taken up. Brother Thomas Hopper was last meeting requested to see her. Some of the brethren reported her to be in bad health. Brother John S. Nance present and says he is very sorry that he cannot attend, hopes to be able to come often in the future. Sister Francis Colby sends a message of love to the church, wishes for membership to remain and will attend whenever she can, all possible. Forth, opened door for reception of members, no application. Herein dispursed with business of the day, we sang a hymn and was dismissed in order.
