Gravel Siding

Gravel Siding is three and one half miles southeast of Iuka, on State Highway 72. This, at one time, was an important loading station for gravel, as much as 8,000 cars being shipped annually. This business has been moved to Tippie, directly across the highway. A short distance away is a gravel mountain, containing the best material in the world for road construction according to T.H. McDonald of the Federal Highway Commission.

Tripple lies on the crest of a gravel mountain, one of the largest sources of gravel in the country. Southern Railroad operates a spur.
