destroyed by fire October 28, 1881, along with the county records accumulated
after becoming a county. These listed below are the earliest marriages
on record.

in the NO RETURN row, applied for a Marriage License, however there has
been no certificate of marriage filed with the Circuit Clerk Office. Whether
or not the marriage occurred is unknown since the records are incomplete.
