Benny Floyd Conn

Benny Floyd Conn, 79, died Tuesday, November 18, 1997 at Hardy Wilson Memorial Hospital in Hazlehurst. Services are incomplete at press time. Interment will be in Antioch Cemetery with Stringer Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Son of the late John Floyd Conn, Jr. and Epsie Bishop Conn, he served in World War II with the paratroopers. He received many citations including the Bronze Star. He was among the first American troops to occupy Berlin.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice Conn.

Survivors include stepson, Fred Rose of El Paso, Texas; brother, James I. Conn of San Francisco, California; sister, Beatrice Counds of Bowie, Texas; and nephew, Wake Till of Knoxville, Tennessee.
