               Two Whittington brothers came to Jackson County, MS in 1827 from Georgia.
Burrell Green Whittington, Jr, born 1787 and wife Nancy Wells and Rev. William K. Whittington born 1789, and wife Mary Strickland. They were sons of Rev War soldier Burrell Green Whittington, Sr.,
born 1757 Albermarle Parish, VA; son of Edward Whittington and Penelope Green.

               These Whittington?s from Bryan County, GA came here following Burrell, Jr 's father-in-law Henry Wells, born 1771, who had settled here near 3 rivers in 1811 from GA.

  • Henry Wells born 1812 md Anna Bounds (dau of Solomon Bounds & Nancy Fillingame)

  • Nancy 1820 md William Wiley Eason
  • Ellen 1822 never married
  • Mary 1825 md William Leonard Bounds (brother to Anna Bounds)
  • William Joshua Green 1828 md Malissia Stafford (dau of Elbert Stafford)
  • Wesley 1837 md Elisabeth Keaton

(Note:) Most of this family moved to Calcasieu and Washington Parish, LA in 1850?s .

Rev. William K. Whittington, born 1789, died Jackson County, MS; 1845 md Mary Strickland in Liberty County, GA. He was a Methodist circuit Rider.
