On April 8, 1922, E. B. Parkman answered to the last roll call, in his seventy-ninth year. He had been blind for several years and suffered other afflictions.
Comrade Parkman went through the War between the States, enlisting March 3, 1862, at Zion Seminary, Covington County, Miss., with an independent company attached to the 3rd Mississippi Regiment, under Capt. James M. Norman.
