Funeral services for Robert A. Blackwell, 80, of Route 1, Monticello, were held at 2 p.m. (May 28), from Antioch Baptist Church. Mr. Blackwell died on Tuesday at 1:45 a.m. in Silver Cross Nursing Home.

He was a native of Lawrence County, and a farmer. His parents are the late John Sanders Blackwell and Mary Genora Griffith Blackwell.

The Rev. M. L. Douglas and the Rev. A. W. Wilson officiated at the final rites. Interment was in the Antioch Church Cemetery. Hartman Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Surviving is one son, Austin G. Blackwell of Compton, Calif., two daughters, Mrs. Jeanette Robinson and Mrs. Ivy Joe Abegg, both of California; three brothers, Alfred Blackwell of McComb, Mack Blackwell of Monticello, and Gayle Blackwell of Jackson; a sister, Mrs. Hula Wilson of Monticello, and two granchildren.
