Services for Juanita Griffith, of Monticello, are 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3, at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel in Monticello with burial in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Monticello.

Mrs. Griffith, 86, died Sept. 1, 2008, at her residence. She was born in Lawrence County on Nov. 1, 1921, to Houston Townsend and Mattie Thompson Townsend. She was a retired supervisor. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Claude V. Griffith; her four brothers, Jim, Oscar, Houston and Austin Townsend; her two sisters, Arline Brister and Veda Townsend.

Survivors are a daughter, Joeann Wallace, of Monticello; her sisters, Ouida Miller, of Monticello, and Prudia Miller, of Florence; a grandchild, Pam Case and husband, Tony, of Monticello; her two great-grandchildren, Nathan and Cody Case; and a great-great-grandchild, Caden Case.
