Mrs. Willie Mae Lewis Maltby, a LPN, 83, passed away Saturday July 28, 2007 at River Oaks Hospital in Flowood. Funeral services will be held today at 2 p.m. in the funeral chapel of Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Visitation begins at 1 p.m. at the funeral home prior to service.

Mrs. Maltby was raised in Crystal Springs and lived in Star, Moss Point, Millen, Ga., Hermanville and the last four years in Florence. At the age of 56 she earned her LPN and worked in hospitals and nursing homes.

Willie Mae was a member of First Baptist Church of Florence and was a great Christian lady and passed her legacy to her family.

Her husbands, J.C. Lewis and Thomas Maltby; son, Shelton Lewis; daughters, Sandra L. Freeman and Kathy Lewis preceded her in death.

Survivors include: Jimmy (Jeraldine) Lewis of Star, Richard (Margie) Lewis of Hattiesburg, Robert (Susie) Lewis of Hurley, Steve (Deanna) Lewis of Sharpsburg, Ga., 12 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
