The Calhoun County, MS Baptist Association was organized in 1875.There is not an official publication of the first organizational meeting on microfilm,but in 1900, a note was sent to the archives that statedthat the first Associational Meeting was held at the Spring Creek Baptist Church in September, 1976.

September 1877

2nd Association Meeting -- New Liberty, Calhoun County, MS.Saturday, September 22nd, 1877The Calhoun Baptist Association convened with the Church of Christ at New Liberty, on Saturday before the fourth Sabbath in September, 1877. The introductory sermon was preached at 11 o'clock by the appointee, Eld. Martin Parker. Text. Acts, 3rd chapter, 22 and 23rd verses; For Moses truly said unto the fathers. A prophet shall the Lord our God raise up unto you of your brethern, ...
After a short intermission the Delegates and Messengers assembled in the house, the former Moderator and Clerk being present took their seats. After singing a hymn and prayer by the Moderator, the annual letters from the churches were presented and read by Eld. H. I. Johnson and Bro. Z. J. Ryan.

To meet with the New Liberty Church, eight miles east of Pittsboro, Friday before the 3rd Sabbath in August, 1889. Eld. T. H. Smith to preach the introductory sermon Eld. C. E. Murphree, Alternate. Eld. L. W. Preddy to preach Saturday at 11 o’clock. Subject: “Origin of the Baptist Church.”
