      RHEA, Hiram..my gr gr grandfather..any information on his family would be helpful..he re-located to columbia co. arkansas around 1850..went back to miss to get rest of family's belongings and was lost at the Miss River..either killed or drowned in the river they think.

      Trying to locate any information regarding my g-grandparents. All I know is that they were both from MS. G-grandfather was Archie(?) WHITE and g-grandmother was Agnes COOK I assume that they were married circa 1865-70. Their children were Lily, Nellie (my grandmother), and Archiebrook(?). I believe that they moved to Knox county, Tn. prior to 1900.

Born 12 Dec 1850, in Barbour County, AL, son of Henry KING (died Dec 1854) and Abi EILAND (Hitchcock widow) KING, he is believed to have been living in Mississippi, unknown county, in 1870-1871 (when he would have been 20-21 years old), and to have returned to Bullock Co, AL (cut off from Barbour Co in 1867) about 1871-1872. He may have been living with relatives or family friends. Any help would be appreciated.

      THOMPSON/THOMSON -- Malcolm THOMPSON born ca 1784 in NC, died before 17 Feb 1853 in Franklin County, AL. His children listed were Daniel of Franklin County, AL, Catherine wife of Samuel Moore of Limestone County, AL, Christina wife of Absolom Glaze, Jr. of Limestone County, AL, Margaret wife of Terrill A. Bridges of Mississippi, and Mary Ann wife of Alexander Montgomery of Lawrence County, AL. I am look for any information on Malcolm, his parents, siblings, wife, etc. My ancestor is his daughter, Catherine wife of Samuel Moore. In the 1850 Census of Limestone County, a younger Malcolm and a Duncan Thompson are living next door to Samuel Moore. What is their connection to Catherine? Are they her brothers, not listed in the Deed records, or are they her nephews? Any and all information will be appreciated.

      My gggrandfather was a member of the 7th Mississippi Batallion Infantry, CSA. He died in Rock Island and is buried there. He signed up for the infantry in Quitman, MS. I have service record, such as they are, from the National Archives. Problem is I find no reference to the BUTLER family in Clarke Co. Therefore, I am wondering if there is other reference to this individual in MS. His name is Ford BUTLER. That is all I really have. Any help would be appreciated.

      Searching for Alexander WILLIAMS born somewhere in MS in 1855. Alexander married Mary Adeline HUDSON in Johnson County, AR in 1880 and had several children (Theophilus, Izean, Dona Louetta, Elmer Reece). Moved to OK approx 1890 where Mary died in 1892. I know that second wife was named Syntha Mary GREEN and that Alexander died approximately 1899 in Acorn, AR. Some information to share.

      I am looking for information about the parents of Dicie Ann WILLIAMS who married TJ CRUMP in 1865 in Holly Springs MS. Dicie Ann was born in December of 1845 - thought to be in Alabama. Her father's name was Thomas Williams. Looking for information on Thomas Williams - spouse's name unknown. Children include Dicie Ann, Nute, Lum, Jim, Ida and two more girls. I suspect the family moved from Alabama to Mississippi at some time before Dicie Ann's marriage, but can find no record of them in either state. Any information will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

      CANANT/CONANT: We know that our great grandfather, William CANANT, was born somewhere in Mississippi, His parents were Chesley CONANT/CONNANT/CANNANT (variously spelled in records) from Laurens Co, SC. Chesley CONANT married three times. William was a son of Chesley's 3rd marriage to Elizabeth _______. He left SC and was in Laurel Co, KY at the time of his (2nd) marriage to Elizabeth COX. We do not know if she died in KY or MS. We do not know if he married (3) Elizabeth ____ in KY or MS. We have found descendants of his children in Lincoln Co, TN and AL. We do know that Chesley CONANT lived somewhere in MS and probably died there. His 3 children who were born in MS moved to AL, our branch settling in Cullman Co. If anyone has any information on the CONANT or CANANT family anywhere in MS, please answer. I will be happy to share.

      ROSS,GEORGE, MS Unknown County: I'm looking for information on the parents of Josiah ROSS born 1854 TN and his sister Mary Elizabeth ROSS born 1860 in MS. Both were residing in TX by 1880. Josiah was married to Mississippi Ann MCPHAIL and Mary Elizabeth (Lizzie) to Oliver F. CLARK. According to the death certificate of Mary Elizabeth, her father was Frank ROSS and her mother was 'Miss' GEORGE. The birth place of Frank ROSS is shown as TN although in the census records both Josiah and Mary always told the census takers that he was born in MS. The birth place for their mother was shown as unknown on the death certificate and NC in the census records.

      HOLLOWAY. Searching for family of Charles Hufford HOLLOWAY, born 1877 in TX. Charlie's mother is supposed to have come from MS, his father from TN. Charlie lived in Panola County, TX. He claimed to be of Choctaw and Cherokee descent. We have simply stopped tracing this line with Charlie because we have no further information than what I have given here.       I am looking for information on Andrew Mitchell DAVIS born 27 May 1827. He married Louisa Anetta CANDLISH OR GOODMAN 10 Oct 1866 in Mississippi. He shows up in Upshur Co. TX in 1870 with a 7-year old son James. Louisa was supposedly married previously to S.S. GOODMAN in MS. We have not had any luck on this family so if anyone can give any info it would be appreciated. I am also looking for Samuel PARKER who later moved to Pike co. AR. He had sons and later in AR had a daughter named Mary Clementine PARKER who married Alexander WATSON.
