Sam and Mittie Golden Manning Wedding

"A Surprise Wedding"

Monday evening, about 8 o'clock, Mr. Sam Manning notified two of his friends that he would appreciate their accompanying him for a short time. He went to the home of Mr. R. P. Golden, where Miss Mittie, the talented daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Golden was ready and waiting. She joined the party and immediately they drove to the Baptist parsonage, where in the presence of the two friends, Rev. M.C. Vick soon united the destinies of Miss Mittie Golden and Mr. Sam Manning for life. No one ever thought of romance in connection with Mr. Manning, as he was always unassuming, but kind and genial in nature, loving his friends and in turn loved by them, but this secret he jealously guarded till he had the young lady safe.

Miss Golden is a modest but talented young woman and is quite a favorite among her circle of friends. Her paintings have been greatly admired by many who are capable of judging good work and many have felt fortunate that they were lucky enough to be able to procure one of her pretty Easter and Christmas cards to send the mesage of love and remembrance to friends at these times. Mr. and Mrs. Manning will make this their future home and their many friends join in extending to them hearty congratulations and the very best of wishes.
