Am looking for members of or descendents of the MIMS,William or George W. Mims family who lived in Monroe County area probably between Amory and Okolona,MS before 1903. They came from the Red Bay, AL area and moved from Monroe County through Chickasaw, and Webster Counties finally settling in Carroll County MS, in a community known as Valley Hill. I am seeking info re Thomas H. SMITH (b. 1815 NC) and Nancy Ann JOHNSON (b. @1817 SC) they were married in 1843 probably in Mississippi and had 2 children there, Merrill/Marias (b. 1845 MS) and Nathaniel C. SMITH (b. 1846 MS). Nancy Ann JOHNSON had a brother named Nathaniel W. JOHNSON (b. @1811 SC) and another brother named Wofford/Warford JOHNSON. There was also an Albert WARFORD that was in the household of the SMITHs for a number of years. These SMITHs and JOHNSONs moved to Bastrop TX in 1850.

CROW
Ruben M. Crow, oldest son of James Wm. and Mary Crow, was born 1843 in Morgan Co., AL. Moved with his family to Itawamba Co., MS. He served, sorta, in Civil war and returned home. In 1870 he was murdered by a man named Burell who was hired to do this. Took place at Guntown in Jan of 1870. Why was Ruben Crow murdered? I can't find out!

Am researching the NEAL family and before 1860 they spelled it NAIL, NEEL, NEIL, etc. My line were in Monroe Co. by 1850. My G grandfather, Francis Marion Neal b. 1821 Al. mar. Eliz. C. Easter, dau of Elbert Jefferson Easter Sr. Francis Marion had a sister, Nancy b. 1826 who mar. a cousin, Jesse Neal, son of John T Neal of Va. Jesse and Nancy as well as Francis Marion and Elizabeth were mar. 1850 in Monroe Co. Ms.
