The following material  is extracted from photocopied pages from the Quarterly Conference Record Book of the Purvis Charge, Methodist Episcopal Church, South. The pages are located in a folder marked "Purvis Methodist Church" in the vertical files in the reading room at William D. McCain Memorial Library, University of Southern Mississippi, Hattiesburg, Mississippi.  Some of the names were very hard or completely impossible to read. I tried to type names and dates exactly as they appear on the record and where information is missing here it was not present in the record.
