Moore Cemetery

“On February 2, 1973, I picked up Mrs. Myrtie West Moore (Mrs. Walter Fox Moore) a Vance cousin and a McCain cousin, at Slate Springs, Miss.
 
We took the second road to the right north of Slate Spring and drove on that gravel road some three miles eastward (with a left turn and a right turn).
 
We parked and went through a cattle gap on the south side of the road to property owned by Henry Jackson Doler. We walked through a forest, then through an open pasture between the abandoned house and barn which once belonged to William Madison Vance, and then southwest for several hundred yards through a forest to the Moore Cemetery.
 
Most of the graves there appear to be unmarked. I copied the inscriptions from the existing tombstone as follows.
