Services for Leroy Hunter, 49, of Morgan City, La. formerly of Fayette, who died Sunday, Dec. 20, 2009, at his residence, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Beckett Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church with the Rev. Roland Prize officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Spencer Funeral Home in Fayette.
Mr. Hunter was born Aug. 26, 1960, in Jefferson County, the son of Dell Jean Hunter Rogers and Bennie Lee Rogers.
Mr. Hunter was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include his loving wife, Debra Morris Hunter; three daughters, Kendra Morris of Morgan City, Enrika Thomas and Quentisa Morris, both of Austin, Texas; his mother, Della Jean Rogers of Fayette; five sisters, Patricia Earls and husband, James, Carolyn Brown and husband, Dalton, all of Houma, La., Dorothy Jackson, Lucille Donaldson and husband, Charles, Michelle Anderson and husband, Tony and Latrisha Wilson, all of Fayette; five grandchildren, Kameryn, Carlyn, Tyler, Dacia and Jaylon; two very special cousins, Katei Mae Grace of Chicago and Carrie Anne Knight of Vicksburg; special friend, Donald Nicholas of Morgan City.
