Phil Gordon Miller, 77, of the Ellard community, died in the Calhoun County Hospital in Bruce last Thursday following a short illness.  His wife died about two months ago. A son of the late George Miller and Elizabeth Vance Miller, he was born in Calhoun County April 11, 1886. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Baptist Church.

Services were held at the Concord Baptist Church Friday at 2:00 with Rev. G.L. Gullett officiating. Burial in the Concord Cemetery with Cook Funeral Home in charge.

Pallbears were J.R. Reese, Raymond Chrestman, Lee Jenkins, Raymond McKibben, Elmer Collins, and Lorraine Steele.

Mr. Miller leaves three sons; Durell and Hays Miller Memphis, Edward Miller, Vardaman, three daughter, Mrs. Corrine McClennan, Mobile, Ala., Mrs. Katie Logan, Bruce, Mrs. Ruby Morgan, Memphis, a brother, Mike Miller, Meridian; 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
